everything is illuminated

I still don't know what to do with this space, but I couldn't resist sharing these photos. They're big, so I'm putting them behind a cut.
Sometimes, after a summer rain (especially in late afternoon), our back yard takes on an eerie yellow glow. I think it's the waning sun filtering through low clouds. Standing in that light feels like being on a movie set or in an old Kodachrome photo. Nothing seems real.
No matter how many things I get used to or take for granted, it always takes my breath away.
Neither of these photos have been manipulated. They were taken less than five minutes apart.

Date: 2017-06-22 10:46 am (UTC)That yellow light is too much. The first time it happened I thought aliens were landing. (And if that ever happens I'll be the first one abducted bc I'll be standing in the middle of the lawn going "whooooaaaaaa.")
